The Seaweed

Harvested off the west coast of Ireland under strict licensing from the Irish Seaweed Industry, comes a remarkable perennial seaweed called ascophyllum nodosom.

Packed with trace elements, minerals, vitamins, carbohydrates and proteins, this type of seaweed contains everything required for vigorous and healthy growth in all growing matter. A perfectly balanced diet!

Half the content of seaweed is humus forming material. Not just a great store of nutrients, but also the chief source of any soils porosity!

Seaweed provides alginates (long chain polymers), which, in sand, help to slow down the leeching process by holding in moisture at the root zone. Alginates improve resistance to drought. In heavier soils, alginates help to provide a fine tilth, crumb and general soil structure.

Seaweed:

  • Increases yield, root development and the plants own immune system against frost, disease, stress and wear and tear.
  • Contains Cytokinins, Betains, Auxins and Giberrellins - natures most important growth promoting hormones, or steroids, that reduce the need for N.
  • Will significantly increase the beneficial bacteria count, especially mycorrhiza, with each and every application.
  • Stimulates bio-mass for a quicker uptake of nutrients.
